Where are they?

Star  Clients of 2006 & 2007 - Where are they now? July 2010

Andrew

Andrew was one of our first Star Clients in December 2006, two months after we opened for business. Andrew has had a bit of a love affair with Mind Body Motion over the last 3.5 years, courting us on and off and playing hard to get! He initially started with two sessions per week and eventually went to three, all with the intention of achieving specific goals. One of them is to have Kaz state that he is “hot”. He has had several bouts of illness over the years and is currently awaiting the results of an MRI on his knee due to an old skiing injury. He is still training with us and will be back into it as soon as his knee issue is resolved. This year he has achieved some fantastic fitness goals and has entered the MBM Achievement Award for the second year in a row.

 Brett

Brett was our June 2007 Star Client and since then has gone on to become one of our “pin up boys”, as we call them, for our professional image i.e. posters, website and so on. Brett’s wife Karen hinted, almost 3.5 years ago, that he should join our group by leaving a flyer in his diary. He has never looked back, although initially he was a bit scared by all the girls given he was the only bloke in our classes! He is still a regular at our Saturday morning classes and is a bit of a quiet achiever, having lost measurements over the years, and increased his fitness levels, all the while just staying consistent in classes. He’s also seen improvements to some back problems that have plagued him over the years however Kaz has to still constantly nag him about not lifting dryers off walls!

Declan

Declan has been with Mind Body Motion for just over 3 years, was our September 2007 Star Client and provided the inspiration for the inaugural City 2 Surf program. It was created with him in mind and that very first year he and 5 other clients joined Kaz to compete in the City 2 Surf. In 2010 we have 31 people training with us based on that very first program and Declan will run the City 2 Surf again this year with us. In his first year or so with Mind Body Motion Declan achieved some awesome weight loss goals as well as his running goals. He also completed his first Half Marathon (21km) in 2009. He has entered the MBM Achievement Awards for this year and still trains with us on Saturdays with his wife Joan where he continues to regale us with tales in his colourful Irish accent!

Melaan

Melaan joined Mind Body Motion over 2 years ago and was our Star Client in April 2007. She was one of the most dedicated and determined exercisers I had seen for a while. Whilst coming once a week to see us, she was training almost every day on her own. Melaan continued to come every week and was another quiet achiever, just focusing on her training. She would always be asking how she could improve or what else she could do to stay fit. Unfortunately this year she has had extra pressure with a new role at IBM and her husband continually travelling so that means she has more family responsibility. Something had to give and her exercise classes have been put on the backburner for the time being. She assures me that she will back to exercise as soon as she can and we look forward to having her back!

Heather

Heather discovered us in a local park and wanted to regain her fitness levels are suffering from glandular fever. She was one of our very first class clients. She felt that she had no energy and loved exercise and wanted to be fit again. She started classes with Mind Body Motion in November 2006 and then personal training as well. We monitored her training on a weekly basis and she went on to become a Star Client in March 2007. Heather moved near to her home town in Armidale some years later to go to university so sadly, we lost her as a client. She has stayed in touch with us on a regular basis and regularly visits Kaz when she is in Sydney. She will run with us in the City 2 Surf in 2010. Heather is now a Les Mills Body Pump instructor part time in a gym in Armidale!

Kerrianne

Kerrianne has been training with Mind Body Motion since January 2007. She wanted to improve her fitness levels as she competes in physical culture events. 6 weeks after commencing her training with us she fell at work, broke her hip and discovered she had osteoporosis. To her own credit, over the course of a year she worked with a physio and got herself to the point where she could once again participate in physical culture, and our exercise classes. She not only competed but won several events and became our Star Client in May 2007. She disappears towards the end of every year to train for her competitions but always returns in January. She is an amazing lady and continues to keep working on her fitness levels by participating in our classes once a week.
