
Walking groups
Women's walking groups designed for women over 50
Join us on our scenic walking groups. The walks are designed to increase your fitness levels, whilst having fun and meeting new people at the same time. Dogs are welcome, depending on the restrictions for some of the parks. We will show you how to prepare for a walk, how to get the most out of a fitness walk, and conduct a gentle stretching program at the end.
Details
- Days and times will vary depending on the availability of the groups. Generally we hold them around 4pm in the afternoon on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesdays.
- A minimum of 8-10 people are required to run the program.
- In the event of wet weather a walk may be postponed to another week
The walks
1. Neutral Bay to Lavendar Bay, incorporating harbour views, walking under the Sydney Harbour Bridge and past Luna Park.
2. Cremorne Point, mostly along a walking track with beautiful gardens and views of the Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge
3. Bradleys Head Mosman, from Sirius Cove, past Taronga Zoo and around to Chowder Bay. Over half of the walk is bush track, returning via the street.
4. Clifton Gardens to Balmoral, mostly along bush track with some great views, returning via the street.
5. Milsons Point to Waverton, past Luna Park, around McMahons Point, returning along the street.
6. Middle Harbour with views of Willoughby Bay, mostly along the street, through a couple of parks and past the Cammeray Golf Course.
7. Middle Harbour along the water's edge, through bushland and park with only a small amount of street walking to return.
8. Tunks Park circuit, through the park and surrounding bushlands, over a stone creek crossing and up to Cammeray. Returning along the street, past the golf course and Green Park.
9. Wollstonecraft and Waverton, through Berry Island reserve, along the water and around Balls Head, returning through Brennan Park.
10. Fullers Park Chatswood West, mostly through bushland and along the creek.
10 walks over 10 weeks program - $100
Terms and conditions
1. The ten week package must be paid in advance.
2. If you are unable to attend a session or you cease to participate in the program no refund will be provided. In the case of serious illness or injury for the participant, a pro-rated refund may be provided.
3. Before commencing the program, the participant must complete a pre-exercise questionnaire for reasons of safety.
